Monkey Bread Recipe

Monkey Bread

2 (1 pound) loaves frozen white bread dough (Rhodes)
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. milk (1% or more is best)
2 Tbls. butter/marg.
1 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1. Thaw bread dough in fridge for 12 hours.

2. Combine:
                1 c. sugar
                1/4 c. brown sugar
                1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
                1/4 c. milk
                2 Tbls butter
*Bring to a boil and cook 1 minute. Remove from heat, cool 10 minutes.

3. Combine in shallow dish:
                1/4 c. sugar
                1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Cut each loaf of dough into 24 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then in the sugar mixture. Layer balls of dough in a 12 cup Bundt pan coated with cooking spray. Poor warm mixture over dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 35 minutes or until dough has double in size.

5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

6. Uncover dough and bake for 25 minutes- or until lightly browned. Loosen edges of bread with a knife. Place a plate upside down on top of pan and invert onto plate. Remove plate. Drizzle any remaining syrup over bread.

Monkey Bread

So I've been into making Monkey Bread lately. Must sound good to the pregnant lady. But Britta helped me this time and did a great job! She's a natural baker!

And She's TWO!!!

Britta had a very exciting 2nd birthday! On the morning of her party, we MOVED into our new house! So that night we celebrated with both grandparents and her MN family. We had a few Minnie Mouse things since "Mimi" is just about her favorite thing in the world! (As you can see from the picture below).

Potato Head with lots of spare parts that mom and dad got from Disney!

Awesome Little People House from Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt...

And even a Shutterfly book made by Grandma!

Yay for kitchen stuff!

And a "Big Girl" stool from Grandma Leafblad! She uses it every day to brush her teeth!

First thing she did on her actual birthday morning- sat her "guys" down on the stairs and showed me how old she is. This means "Two", not four in her world!

Her favorite thing to do on her birthday morning- sitting with "Mimi" with her "Gasses" on watching a "Mimi Dosh" (Mickey Mouse Show).

Birthday Waffles!

Birthday Lunch with the girl cousins at Panera!

Ponytails, Bunny Trails, and Blankie Veils....

Britta has gotten to be SILLLLLLLLY. She was all cozied up on the couch the other day and I could NOT get her off of here for naptime. I had to drag her off!

Ponytail time!

Easter Sunday Morning. Look at those scrawny arms! Love this girl....

"Happy Birthday Easter!" was Britta's phrase of the day....

Not a baby anymore- she's a real little girly girl!

Ready for a nap before the Easter Egg Hunt....

My little Easter Bunny.

Follow that Bunny Trail to the Easter Eggs..... Mari is eyeing up Britta's Basket already!

First egg of the hunt....

Watching a "Mi-House" Show: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with all of her "guys."

And then I came out later that day and here she is with a blankie cozied all around her like a veil. When I actually came out, she was holding it under her chin- so funny....

Fun in the Sun

Our Florida Trip began with a 5:15 wake up for poor Britta. She was in such a daze riding to the airport in a taxi!

But as soon as she got her pigtails in, she was revived! So much so that she nearly strangled her baby doll! Look at the craziness in here eyes! Ha!

Passing the time in the airplane. The first run with headphones didn't last very long (long enough for a couple of pictures!)

And all the wildness on the airplane promptly turned into exhaustion when she got into the car. She was wiped!

Our first evening there- Ben was transformed into a dwarf "Grumpy" the trucker!

And Britta was turned into a princess :)

Ready for the pool!

Lots of time on the "dide" (slide) with Daddy!

She LOVED  the water!

The look on here face here just makes me smile.

Two hours in the pool makes for some really pruny fingers!

Happy Florida baby

She's never worn sunglasses before this trip and she LOVED them!

Day 2 at the pool was mostly a success, although the fountain made her really tentative. She walked through EVERY time with her hands like this... ha

Every little girl needs a Minnie Mouse shirt (And some girl cousins!)

Family Boat Ride to Downtown Disney from Port Orleans. Free Disney is the way to go!

First time with floaties- she didn't love it at first, but she got really used to it!

Girls adventure to Disney's town called Celebration! So fun! Thanks for riding in the back, Kim!

"OOOOOO Isheem" (Ice Cream!)

Our Day at the Beach (I forgot my camera in the car, so this was one of our only pics from Grandpa!)

What happens after a day at the beach!

An evening at the "Animal Kingdom Lodge." FUN!

I think we have a gymnast on our hands!

Learning to swim with the Floaties! She's getting better!

Last night.... Disney's Boardwalk! So fun!

The Famous Couch... with Mari taking care of the younger girls...

Thankful for our little family
